Years ago I did a few projects with 100.3 The Bear, radio station; a poster, three Howler ticket designs and this… the Iwannaleiyaluau party invite. Having meetings with this group was fantastic. The ideas that they had were hilarious and challenging to execute. I’m glad I was able to deliver.
This invite is actually one piece of paper folded with a single die-cut. No glue or assembly needed. I sat in a Starbucks doodling this thing out for an hour right after the client meeting. Realizing that my coffee was ice cold I ran to the studio where I made several mock-ups until the theory was proven.
Vector art was illustrated to make the frame and the image of the colourful material is a photo taken of my hammock. It was printed by Douglas Printing, now Burke Group, who I still trust with my complex and outside-the-box types of projects.
Having lots of fun with Inktober; a drawing challenge created by Jake Parker to “improve inking skills and develop positive drawing habits. It’s all the rage on Instagram too.
Here are a few of my posts for this year.
